Rabat, February 14 – The United States has supported the official launch of the Digital Innovation Academy, a national initiative that leverages American leadership in innovation and education to strengthen advanced technological skills, promote entrepreneurial spirit and prepare a new generation of talent for the careers of tomorrow.
Designed as a nationwide pilot program, the Digital Innovation Academy aims to support 100 young adults in the fields of artificial intelligence and entrepreneurial innovation across four regions of Morocco. The project was proposed by three Moroccan alumni of U.S. exchange programs, who received a grant from the U.S. Department of State's 2025 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF). The AEIF is a U.S. Department of State initiative that showcases American excellence by enabling alumni of exchange programs to lead innovative, community-focused projects around the world.
“Our collaboration with the Digital Innovation Academy reflects the depth and breadth of our long-standing relationship with Morocco, especially as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and Morocco’s historic role as our oldest friend,” said Muhammad Shahbaz, Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Rabat.
The event marked the launch of a new collaborative dynamic, bringing together academic institutions, international partners, experts, and young talent around digital innovation. Through the Digital Innovation Academy, the partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to education, responsible innovation, cybersecurity, and trusted technologies, all in service of human capital development and Morocco's digital transformation.
The Digital Innovation Academy is led by eSTEM Morocco and was launched at the National School of Arts and Crafts in Rabat (ENSAM Rabat). The one-year program will be implemented in close collaboration with five Moroccan partner NGOs.
